A few weeks ago, I came across a story that completely blew my mind. An app managed to rack up 250,000 downloads and generate $100,000 in revenue—all within just three months. Even more impressive, it was built by two friends, Nikita and Yini, from their bedrooms in Europe, armed with nothing more than a single TikTok account.

This is the story of their app Natural Write, their step-by-step TikTok marketing playbook, and the viral content strategy that led to millions of views.

The Birth of Natural Write

Nikita (based in Serbia) and Yini (based in Poland) launched an AI writing tool called Natural Write. The app is simple: paste AI-generated text, click a button, and instantly get a “humanized” version that passes most AI detectors.

Their main users?

  • Students at schools and universities

  • Marketers and professionals needing more natural-sounding content

The idea wasn’t planned in advance. While researching trends, they noticed TikTok was buzzing with videos about “AI humanizers.” Spotting an opportunity, they decided to build their own version in just two weeks—and promote it exclusively through TikTok.

The result: $41K in their first month, $32K in the second, and $27K in the third.

Why Influencers Didn’t Work—and What Did

At first, Nikita and Yini tried hiring TikTok influencers to promote Natural Write. But that strategy flopped, generating views but almost no conversions.

So, they switched tactics:

  • They made their own TikTok account

  • Filmed and posted one video per day

  • Got their first sale from the very first video

From there, momentum snowballed, with consistent revenue growth and viral hits.

Going Viral: Their Most Effective TikToks

Their best-performing videos didn’t rely on dancing, humor, or high-end production.

They followed two basic principles:

  1. Start with a relatable problem (e.g., “You have to submit an essay in 5 minutes”)

  2. Deliver a clear, visual solution using the app

One video, based on a Jim Carrey movie scene, got over 4 million views and brought in thousands of users.

Another—showing the simple before/after of text humanization—hit 1.5 million views on Yini’s account alone.

“We didn’t expect that kind of reach. But once we saw the formula working, we just kept repeating it.”

The Stack: Built for Speed, Not Scale

They kept the product lightweight and affordable.

Tech stack:

  • Frontend: Next.js

  • Backend: NextAuth, PostgreSQL, Coolify

  • Email: Resend

  • Hosting: $35/month

  • VPN and phone numbers: $5/month each

They also had a third team member, Alexander, who handled development while Nikita and Yini focused on growth.

“Other than our time, the business costs are incredibly low,” they said.

The TikTok Marketing Playbook

What set them apart was their programmer’s mindset toward TikTok marketing. They broke down the process into repeatable steps:

  1. Do niche research

    • Find competitors in your niche already going viral.

    • Use TikTok search and Creator Insights to spot proven formats.

  2. Create your TikTok account

    • If outside your target location, use a VPN, US phone number, and new Apple ID.

    • Register the account on your phone number.

  3. Warm up the account

    • Spend 30–50 minutes daily for 3–5 days liking, commenting, and following creators in your niche.

  4. Recreate what works

    • Start with 1:1 copies of viral videos, but add captions inside TikTok’s editor.

  5. Post once per day

    • Focus on the second half of the day for best results.

  6. Innovate

    • Once you’ve gone viral, experiment with original formats.

  7. Scale

    • Open more accounts or hire creators when the first account gains traction.

This disciplined system gave them consistent growth—and multiple viral moments.

Lessons in Simplicity: Don’t Overthink It

Their advice for others trying TikTok marketing is simple:

  • Start yourself—don’t outsource before learning the platform

  • Copy what already works—don’t invent your own style too early

  • Keep it light—you don’t need fancy editing or gear

  • Stay consistent—one post per day is enough if you're disciplined

“We’re not native English speakers. We had no experience in video. But we stuck to the system. And it worked.”

Final Thoughts

In just three months, two friends with no prior TikTok experience transformed an idea into a six-figure business—powered almost entirely by viral content.

Their journey shows that you don’t need massive funding or a marketing team to succeed. Sometimes, all it takes is the right product, the right platform, and the courage to hit “post.”

If you’re building something today, ask yourself: What’s already going viral in my niche—and how can I tap into it?

“You don’t need a huge team, perfect English, or a massive budget. You just need a simple product that solves a real problem—and a way to show it clearly on TikTok.”
